Tone Mobile Video

This project is a piece of a larger, Tone Backstage Pass with artist Sara Bareilles, promotional campaign. Among other things, Tone offered fans a chance to win a trip to meet Sara in NYC. I designed a printed shelf talker, featuring a custom die-cut and QR Code, that went on display in Walmarts across the country. Fans scanning the QR code, with their smartphones, streamed a personal video from Sara directing them to click through and enter to win. I was also responsible for programming of the html, transcoding and embedding of the mobile video. I researched and tested for usability across the majority smartphones.

Airspace Lounge Video

Airspace Lounge offers airport passengers a private, contemporary space to relax and unwind. For their on-premise digital signage, I created an atmospheric looping video. My contributions included art-direction, concepting, video sourcing, animation, editing, and DVD output. Original source video was provided by: ‘the cloud 365 project’. Final delivery was a Looping-DVD in 16×9, 1080p, HDV format. Special consideration was given to avoid ‘burning’ any images into the screens.

Kirin Ichiban Tap Handles

I designed a series of tap handles for Kirin Ichiban Beer. Here are a few of my favorites. There were several overarching considerations. First, these are designed to be in sushi bars, so materials and design needed to be minimal and sophisticated. Secondly, traditional Japanese inspiration such as — Torii gates and both classical and modern architecture were incorporated. And lastly the handle needed to have ease of use for pulling and be easily recognizable.

Twenty pages of content, seven product scents, and one important message. Dial Complete protects you and your family. Twenty pages of facts, studies, and product shots is a lot to take in. That’s why the navigation has been simplified to three approachable main links. Each page layout has manageable body copy and quick easily digestible call-out boxes. At the bottom of each page are three suggested links to keep readers circumventing. Special considerations were made to increase Search Engine Readability by using HTML text. The page layout has been optimized for a both large and small screen resolutions.

Raising Cane’s Holiday Promotion

An annual holiday tradition for the Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers restaurant is a themed plush puppy of their mascot. We concepted and created the theme, ‘Cane The Elf’. Deliverables included everything from instore posters, online banners, and outdoor billboards. Personally, I was responsible for the Elf House Packaging Case, Elf Photoshoot, and Gift Card Holder. The Packaging Case served both as carrying device and a play place for the future owner. The Gift Card Holder featured an image of Cane The Elf holding the card with his paws. Both used custom die-lines and required special coordination with printing and fulfillment specialists.

Pizza Inn Store Opening Promotion

Pizza buffets should be fun and playful, especially when there is a grand opening. I was tasked with helping to convey this excitement through a grand opening t-shirt. Special consideration was made to simplify the printing down to 2 or 3 colors/tints. I illustrated several imaginative scenes featuring their mascot Jo-Jo, on a quest to devour pizza. In one scene, Jo-Jo “Helps Control The Pizza Population” by chasing a herd of nervous pizza. In another scene, Jo-Jo takes on the form of the pop-icon Pac Man. Jo-Jo moves around the headline “Get Ready! Pac-It-Inn” and devours super-cute pizza characters.

Reloadable Deodorant Prototypes

Whats the most expensive part of your deodorant? The hard plastic container. Why not bring to market an alternative that reduces needless packaging waste and saves consumers substantial money? For their Corporate Innovations Team, I created concepts for Soft & Dri and Right Guard, that address both ease of use and feasibility.

Soft & Dri Description:

I designed the Soft & Dri packaging to have a feminine sculptural quality. The curves create both the perfect shape for holding and a subtle branded ‘S’. Unlike it’s plastic step-sister, this case is made of substantial metal. To reload, simply slide the new cartridge through the bottom of the case.

Right Guard Description:

For the Right Guard packaging, I departed from current conventions. What goes inside is an innovative, suction technology gel pack. Pressing down on the button will release the perfect amount of gel. The case is upside down, shorter, and thinner. The case is a fusion of substantial metal, and grip-able rubber. Most importantly, the case is curved to fit perfectly in hand.

The restaurant co-founded by Ted Turner, needed to get local franchisees excited about their unique position & brand promise. TMG, has the unique position of bringing the spirit of the frontier into a restaurant concept. Backed by the credibility that their co-founder is literally the largest private American land owner and bison rancher. My responsibilities included concepting, art direction, storyboarding, animation, editing, and DVD output (phew). And all on a truncated timeline & budget.

Coast Soap Website

To celebrate their 35th anniversary, Coast has launched a new Throwback Bar Soap. I created a new art direction and product website. The website evokes the feeling of the west coast, which highlights the product’s key benefit — an eye opening ocean scent. Other beach vernacular, like wood and hand painted signage were incorporated. I illustrated a fun logo mark for each page. To support the 35th anniversary, I’ve included a gallery of vintage ads and TV spots. The TV Spot links to a YouTube page, where you’ll find recent comments and interaction from real brand loyalists. The website is Mobile Browser Friendly – using only HTML, JavaScript and images – and fits on screens from large to small.

Bennigan’s Cash Crunch Lunch Promo

We launched an epic promotion for the fast casual restaurant Bennigan’s. Cash Crunch Lunch – a full lunch and drink for only $4.99! One of our promotional elements was a series of t-shirts for servers to wear on premise. The headline “Save Yourself!” is paired with illustrations of monsters. My Sasquatch character shown below, takes a bite out of and squeezes the promo headline. We used bright shirt colors to increase visibility. We referenced current trends from sources like urban outfitters.
